Cowherd: Jets have reached out to agents about coaching candidates

Recommended Posts

Dropped some tea . . . ? Kids today, what does that mean? Who mopped up this dropped tea?  I would say Charlie Casserly, because that's all he's good for; only he won't clean up any mess HE made so forget I said it.

Are there any legit HC candidates without jobs right now?

Or would they be reaching out to guys under contract with other teams?  Seems very early to start that process, as you can't interview them until the regular season is over, at the earliest.

I mean, based on Mort's report and what happened yesterday this isn't surprising at all.

Gase is getting fired Friday morning.

I don’t even care if the door hits him on the way out. JUST LEAVE

If there is in fact a change coming, they better let JD hire him and have the new guy report to him. Enough of the two headed monster

Stop being reasonable. The Jets won't ever do the coach to GM, GM to owner system. Hence the perennial loser.

If stuff like this is true, and I don't know if it is or isn't, how do you let Adam Gase continue to walk around the building? Just get him out of there now. For his sake, and the teams.

It's not a terrible setup if you have competent ownership. Unfotunately we don't, and so it's awful. If they got lucky and nailed the JD hire they should ride it as long as hard as they can, and that begins with giving him the reigns of the coach.

As long as they are just testing the waters re who may be available next year fine.  Actually looking to fire gase and hire a new permanent guy now sounds like a usual idiotic johnson bros move.

That's what I was thinking? Who is available?

I'm sure it's availability after pro and college season,,,if Gase gets axed it will be someone on staff who gets HC job on interim basis.

It would probably be college. Thinking Big 10 or PAC 10 since they are not yet playing.Harbough? David Shaw?

Cowherd just dropped some tea on his show- said Jets brass have reached out to agents about coaching candidates.

I don't think he's got an authentic source, but does it matter? Fan the flames.

God help us, if we can at least get that right... just that one small critical piece right... that would be a massive win in the right direction

The idiot who hired Gase will simply hire another idiot.

Name ONE good hire the Johnsons have made? and don't say Douglas. We don't know that.

In the time we have had REX, we have had 3 coaches, at least 5 QB's, and 4 GM's.

The Ravens, who wouldn't even consider REX, have had 1 coach, a SB, TONS of playoffs, 2 QB's.

MANAGEMENT!!!

WE ARE DOOMED!!!!!

I can't argue with any of this unfortunately. The dysfunction starts at the top and the Johnson's are going nowhere. At least with the Mets there is some optimism that Cohen will fumigate the Wilpon stink. No such luck with this team.

What is Kotite doing?

Smiling at the notion of him not being the worst thing to happen to the New York Jets.

Denver is starting their 3rd strong quarterback. Thursday will be an impossible watch but it probably saves Gases job for at least a week.

IF it is true (if considering the source), it could also be the jets reaching out to the agent of a current coach (e.g., Gregg Williams) to adjust the contract if they become interim coach.

We should have been doing this since last season, whether keeping Gase or not.

I think Cowherd is making this up though - Just using Mort's report as cover to speculate.
