Not concerned.  This team will be 60/40 run/pass anyway is my guess. They're not adding Pro Bowl linemen, better TEs and drafting a RB at the top of the 2nd to have Zach throw 35 passes a game IMO.

Can’t agree.  Doubt there are many 60/40 teams.  Even teams with talented backs pass more that run the ball.  We didn’t hire a discipline of the Shanahan system, thought of as a young mind in the mold of his brother and his GB offense to play ground and pound

Wait, camp performances and tweets are suddenly important today? It’s difficult keeping track of when they are or are not important. Pretty sure that yesterday they meant absolutely nothing ?

Good job by Zach today!

Or aren’t they anymore?

+1. No one sees all the passes Zach throws in Woody Johnson’s underground lair, where the CBA doesn’t apply.

Guess what that big white bubble is for.  Nah

Don’t let it bother you. Enjoy the ride.

If you are right about Wilson, you will get the last laugh in a big way. I agree with you that Wilson has a ton of potential and that folks on here have been oddly harsh on him compared to other young Jets QBs of the past.

People are shell shocked after Darnold and the past 11 years of ineptitude. It does make sense that people are harsh.

Flacco isn't starting because he's old.  He's sucked for several years now.  The SB was 10 years ago.   Baltimore knew he was done and drafted his replacment 4 years ago when he was 33.   He's career QB rating is 84.2.   He has had 1 season with plus 4,000 yards.  He's career completion percentage is 61.7.   He's had 1 25 TD season.

The guy is a career 2nd tier QB who was done as a starting caliber NF QB at 32 years old.  The guy isn't starting and if Zach gets hurt Flacco will fill in before being replaced by MW.

Zach is the Jets starting QB.  The Jets made that clear when they drafted him.  They haven't put anyone on the roster including Flacco that could challenge that narrative.

If Zach sucks and management doesn't feel he's the guy at some point late next year or the following year they will draft a QB and bring in a 2nd or third tier NFL vet starter.

The Jets run a very easy O for the QB to excel in.  They have a ton of offensive playmakers.  Any 3rd tier NFL QB who's not getting hit would look great in this O.

Flacco is terrible. He had a chance to impress last year and he showed that he is a mentor. Not the same QB he was, not even close to a starting QB in this league.

Agreed.

It is mostly overcompensation for Darnold busting here so recently.

Wilson still deserves 25-30ish starts.

I believe a balanced attack works best. Today's NFL defenses are too good to run against when they know what's coming and stack the box with 8 or 9 guys. That ends up in 3rd and 8 and puts Zach in a bad position.

Amongst the interesting things that happened last year was Zach Wilson’s confidence in the middle of the field. In college he was active down the sidelines and further downfield. When he showed improvement last year it was primarily attacking intermediate areas between the numbers.

If anyone remembers the Matt Waldman video he talks about Zach’s struggles against middle zone coverages as why Wilson would fail. Instead Wilson was good against zone coverage and with his timing in the middle of the field. It’s interesting how we still don’t know how players will react to the pro game.

Reps are what Wilson needs. I dont see how this is a controversial statement. Stop arguing for the hell of it. Players get better in practice.

Are reps in scrimmages , especially team only scrimmages really that important ?

The Reps Wilson got last year where many here bitched he should be holding a clipboard watching a fossil were the important reps , live reps in a "real game" against opponents that want to harm your QB.

Dang! We don't get to watch 99% of the team standing around for 2 hours while one or two guys practice some goofy drill.

So if you add up ALL the snaps Zack takes during TC, seems it's about the same number of snaps as ONE regular season game. 50-60 snaps per game, versus 10-12 snaps per TC practice.

And those super goofy 'warm up' things they do after taking the field in the morning! Stop it!!!

He isnt taking 10-12 snaps per practice, and he isnt throwing the ball 50-60 times a game.  WTF.    There are running plays that are also practiced and run in games.

Stop trying to explain football to these people

I was talking to someone inside 1 JD today and she said for the first time in years the players hang after practice to put in extra practice time

These people actually don’t think
