Miami wants QB badly...

Heard this AM that Bengals already told Burrow he's the pick. Also, really starting to wonder if Burrow is the only QB in the top 10. Sounds like Miami is off the Tua train...why else would they come out yesterday and say their Dr's cleared him if not to try to get somebody to trade up in front of them?

If they were comfortable with Drafting Tua or Herbert at 5 there is no way they'd be trying to do everything possible to get Burrow. They're not taking a QB at 5 and the Chargers aren't taking one at 6. If the Chargers were going to draft a QB they'd  be trying to move ahead of Miami and reports this morning have stated they're staying at 6. Only 1 QB is going top 10. Hopefully a QB needy team offers the Jets a boatload to move to 11.

This is what happens when you don’t tank properly.  We all know this.

It shows just how hard it is to tank in the NFL. Miami did everything right last year (Trading away all their good players).

Much easier to just throw out random players in the NBA and pretty much negate any chance at winning. If you do the same in the NFL players get hurt etc..

Eh, nothing has really gone wrong for Miami yet.

They can just sit back and use their league high number of picks to greatly improve their roster, if they pick the right guys. They can also completely F this up. Time will tell.

The pre-draft buzz means nothing

Yeah, they’re lost. NFL network reporter just said he was told there’s more people in that room that want Herbert. Who knows at this poing

If San Diego shared your strong opinion that the fish won't be taking a QB at #5, why would they feel the need to trade ahead of them for a QB?

It's hard to tank properly when you play the Jets twice.  Even once...just ask Cincy.

Teams almost always trade up in the 1st round to draft a QB. Teams don't wait and see if the QB they love falls to them.  Chicago did it with Trubisky by moving up 1 spot when nobody else was trying to move up.  GM's get nervous.

Only two reasons you say your doctors medically cleared him.  1) Entice a trade up from another team as you said 2) Sell your fanbase that you did your homework when you draft him

Let's say you're correct and Burrow somehow becomes the only QB to go in the Top 10, do teams sitting behind the Jets who need a future QB (maybe Raiders at 12 or 19, definitely Saints at 24, Miami at 18, New England, etc.) really start to aggressively try to trade up for either Tua, Herbert or Love?

I remember when some were calling them cheap for only donating $1 million. Even though they have donated and raised 100's of millions of dollars for other causes through their foundations.

They have 3 picks in Round 1 after intentionally tanking and thought they'd be able to leverage those into a move up the board to #1.  It's not working and now Tua is a risky pick.  They're a little stuck.

Imagine being a team at #1 and already having your QB when Miami calls offering 5, 18 and 26!  Holy smokes would that be a great trade down for a team with QB but with holes all over the rest of the roster.

Let's hope they do and then make some awesome offers to the Jets.

That’s a very good point. Miami’s plan was to tank for Tua but then they started winning and Tua got injured.  Yes they still have a lot of drop capital but they seem a little stuck in a way lol

Does that mean I can write off part of my ticket cost as charitable contributions?

#Alabama coach Nick Saban appeared on SiriusXM NFL Radio this morning. Was irked by rumored concerns over Jerry Jeudy knee issue from 2018. “Jeudy has nothing wrong with him. Absolutely nothing. He never missed practice here. He played in every game.”

Eagles reporter chick is trying to get Jerry Jeudy to drop to 21 or at least to a spot where Eagles can trade up.

Even if the season is delayed or cancelled, there's no reason not to have the draft as scheduled.  None.

I know , still takes some excitement out of it knowing that there seems little chance we are getting a normal season ..and some chance that we are getting no season at all .

WAY WAY WAY too many mocks giving us Becton. He is this years nightmare pick. This dude is going to be a massive bust. Jets need pass blocking o-lineman. He is not one.

To amplify on this, physical outliers are RARELY successful in the NFL. Physical measureables that acted as gates was some of the first analytics. Gil Brandt talks about this a lot. Usually we talk about outliers that are too small, but being too big can be just as bad. Becton was terrible in pass blocking in college and it is silly to assume he will magically get better at it in the NFL.

Probably dumping Edelman

Seriously doubt it T. They're WR's , as a unit, suck. Adding Lee is a minimal addition as he's only played 6 games with 3 catches over the last 32 games.  I feel that's the reason Cindy left, they have no weapons for the QB. From that standpoint they can't afford losing Edelman.

Saw something on a Jet fan Instagram account claiming one of his followers who has ties to JD is claiming we have a deal in place with Philly to swap 1sts and get Rasul Douglas and a 2021 3rd back.

not a fan of that personally.

Agree. Would be a no for me.
