he hasn't done well. in many ways he reminds me of guys like Mac and Mayock with his drafting...outsmarting yourself.

either way if he does call it a day, congrats on a long career in the NFL, beating cancers ass, and good luck in retirement.

Outsmarting yourself + Gettleman…you’re giving him too much credit

Thats the way I see it going down, the Giants wont "fire" him.  Mara has to protect that image of having too much "class", they'll let him retire.

Your absolutely correct - they are a teflon organization when it comes to media and class. They idolize a convicted felon/rapist and continue to have his presence at their celebrations. They kept a kicker who beat his wife on the roster for days/weeks before finally letting him go.

The Jets do this and we all know how it goes down. The Giants do it and it is noise for a small period of time then all is forgotten.

Yet another stupid team that is not going to let an incoming gm pick a coach of their choosing

The GM and judge must go if they are serious about fixing things. Unless they let judge have a significant say in the GM , which would still be a mistake IMO

too bad gettleman didn't pick darnold instead of barkley.  you have to wonder if mac would've opted for jackson, allen or a dt.

Unfortunately,It probably would’ve been Rosen

Edit:(DOH! Ninja’d)

Not if they retain Joe Judge.

He's certainly a big part of the problem, but Gettleman is the larger concern.  He's a dinosaur in this league.  Plus he hired Judge in the first place.

I imagine with Gettleman gone, Judge will be as well.  The org needs to hit the reset button.

Highly likely Macc would have taken Josh Rosen.  Macc flew out to California for his Pro Day.

So even if we avoided Darnold, Macc would have made an even worse decision on draft day.

Giants have become such a fragile organization. Letting Gettleman retire, so they can preach about not being the type of organization that fires GMs and to defend the retention of Judge. It's much easier to justify keeping Judge if the GM wasn't fired.

great point. didnt think of that.

hes 70 so hes going to retire soon, but i would think he would honor his contract and retire after its done. so this is definitely how your saying it

only problem for Gettleman is if he retires, he doesn't get his money. if Hes fired he gets it all
