y2k8
LOL If he was going to retire it would have been announced months ago so they could begin the new GM search to plan a transition.

k-met57
he hasn't done well. in many ways he reminds me of guys like Mac and Mayock with his drafting...outsmarting yourself. either way if he does call it a day, congrats on a long career in the NFL, beating cancers ass, and good luck in retirement.
Jet Nut
Thats the way I see it going down, the Giants wont "fire" him. Mara has to protect that image of having too much "class", they'll let him retire. 3

They idolize a convicted felon/rapist and continue to have his presence at their celebrations. They kept a kicker who beat his wife on the roster for days/weeks before finally letting him go. The Jets do this and we all know how it goes down. The Giants do it and it is noise for a small period of time then all is forgotten.

JoJoTownsell1
Giants have become such a fragile organization. Letting Gettleman retire, so they can preach about not being the type of organization that fires GMs and to defend the retention of Judge. It's much easier to justify keeping Judge if the GM wasn't fired.

He's a dinosaur in this league. Plus he hired Judge in the first place. I imagine with Gettleman gone, Judge will be as well. The org needs to hit the reset button. Highly likely Macc would have taken Josh Rosen. Macc flew out to California for his Pro Day. So even if we avoided Darnold, Macc would have made an even worse decision on draft day.
