Tom took a L last night against the Ravens & this morning took L #2 when his wife filed for divorce.

The issue has been percolating since Tom Brady took an eleven-day break during training camp. It’s officially reaching a resolution today.

TMZ.com reports that Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady and his wife, Gisele Bundchen, have reached a settlement agreement regarding the dissolution of their marriage. Divorce documents will be filed today.

Per the report, the couple had been working with a mediator to negotiate terms as to child custody and property distribution. They’ve now reached a deal.

Brady has been the subject of intense speculation as to whether and to what extent the personal strife is affecting his on-field performance. Given that football fans, media, and gamblers spend so much time obsessing over every bump or bruise on a player’s body, anything that can limit the quality of play becomes a natural subject of concern.

It’s possible that the official termination of the marriage will reduce the overall stress and strain on Brady. Again, it feels weird to think and talk and write about these things. But it’s one of the basic realities of a player staying in football for so many years. Eventually, life issues that would play out post-retirement will happen during the player’s career.

Honestly ... that sucks. Sucks for the kids, sucks for the people involved. They all have enough money that nobody should be crying for their lot in life, but I'm not going to gloat about anyone going through that type of personal pain, let alone when it impacts kids.

That said, pretty crazy that he put himself in this situation.

Everyone is tired of Brady... Rival fans, TB fans, His coaches, his team mates, his wife, and now I'm even thinking the media...

Anywho...

He’s one player I always hated. I actually liked him and the Pats U.P. until 2004 then after that third Super Bowl win I was more than tired of them.

Brady threw for a career high 5,316 yards last year and his 43 TDs were his 2nd highest total (to his 50 in 2007) in his career.  This was done at age 44!  I can't blame the guy for not wanting to leave the sport after a season like that.  For a guy as driven as he is, to walk away after that type of season might leave him wondering if he had another Super Bowl still left in him.  And he probably wants to make sure he sets records that are as unreachable as possible.  Montana and Bradshaw's 4 Super Bowls seemed impossible to beat but Brady now has 7.

Btw, I can understand why Giselle would be upset at him being away from his family (assuming that's the reason for the breakup) but is the family going to be "closer" now that they're divorcing?
