You've been open and vulnerable publicly on this site; sharing Lauren's story and the many ups and downs over the past decade plus. Thank you for letting us in. You've been an inspiration in what it means to be a husband, a father, to love, and to stand tall and proud in the face of great adversity. I'm certain you had your moments (how could you not?), but from my perspective, you never broke. You just did the next right thing to make her, and your family's situation the best that it could be, each and every step of the way. I truly thank you for showing us all that. Phil, I've met your children at Jets tailgates a couple of times. This loss is truly devastating, but I'm comforted in knowing that Lauren's legacy is solidified through them. I know they will honor her memory and the person she was through the people they are and the people they'll continue to become. Be well, my friend. You sound like an awesome guy, and Lauren and you were blessed to have each other. Your words are a stirring and touching tribute to her and to your children. Your whole family's strength, faith, love, and support for each other are awesome and inspiring. My heart goes out to you, Shane and Kelly Marie. May God give you all comfort, peace, and continued strength and grace during the tough days ahead. Lauren truly looks and sounds like a beautiful person inside and out. She is at peace, free from pain, and free from the travails of this earth. You all will see her again. Take care of yourself. Grieve as long and as hard as you need. You've been amazingly strong for 12 years. I can't even fathom what you've been through! I know that you want to be there for your kids, but you also need to take care of you. My heart sunk when I saw the headline. my mother in law was just diagnosed last week with breast cancer.
