Why? Just curious.

He has his head in his hands,  He's rubbing his eyes..every time Rodgers gets brought up he's visibly frustrated that he can't get news on Rodgers.

I think at this point it's really clear the trade is done and he can't anyone to verify it.

OK, good ... a real discussion.

For the most part, no.  But that was before Joe Douglas (who like every GM has made his share of mistakes).

However, if this deal does go through and we weren't robbed (which I don't think we will be), I think we should all give credit to where credit is due.

JD -- The guy who shrewdly traded several overrated assets (Darnold, Adams ..) in the lead-up to the last 2 drafts and boldly bet on Rodger's market (& ego).  Brought us the following elite players after a cupboard that was empty for years.

----------------------------------------

QB Aaron Rodgers* (MVP in 2020, 2021)

WR Garrett Wilson (Offensive Rookie of the Year)

RB Breece Hall (if not injured, Offensive Rookie of the Year)

G AVT (Jets offensive line version of Joe Klecko)

CB1 Sauce Gardner (1st team All Pro; Defensive Rookie of the Year)

CB2 DJ Reed (name a better #2 CB in the NFL?)

-----------------------------------------

Whether you like Saleh or not, the guy was the hottest head coaching candidate in that cycle and JD successfully lured him here.

So hopefully we can all start enjoying the ride!

believe me, I want to be wrong about this franchise so bad....we've been burnt so many times I hope Joe D is that guy to change the narrative

And he's 30 playing WR. Anyone watch him play last year? If so, has he fallen off at all?

I think he got hurt once or twice. AZ sucked without him and by the time he came back the team was in tank mode

As great as it will be to have him as qb, I am equally excited to hear his first interaction with cimini when he brings his negative twist to the jets

That's a no for me.  First, I hope that the 2nd or 3rd round pick is on its way to GB and not the 1st. Second, that's too rich for an aging receiver who has about 50% of the games the past two seasons. Third, his contract is ridiculous.

6 of the games he missed last year were due to suspension. 2nd round pick is too much to pay for a WR his age though. And I do want to go get him.

I can’t take this

Whole thing is silly. Rodgers being undecided shouldn’t hold the Jets up from doing other things. People speculating stuff at this point means nothing as Rodgers is the only guy who seems to have any idea. It’s not coming from Trey Wingo, that’s for sure.

So one trash franchise signing Jimmy G = Jimmy G is a better option than Rodgers?

i never said Jimmy G was better than Rodgers

he's a little worse

but cost/benefit he delivers the same middle of the road production, the same injury profile as Rodgers at half the price

you can't give JD credit for drafting two OROYs

That doesn't happen, even if Breece doesn't get hurt
