Some of this is getting out of hand IMO.

There have now been reports Gase doesn’t like Bell, Mosley, Williams, and Darnold.

Honestly if all this is true and you didn’t like the teams QB and offseason strategy why take the job?

Also-Gase had zero shot at getting Darnold (who was a top 3 lock) so why would Gase spend a lot of time scouting him?

How many Head Coaches/GMs passed on Tom Brady? How many have since watched him play and would love to be his Head Coach?
Stop letting the media think for you.

I admittedly despised the Gase hire, but this is so laughably ridiculous.

Meanwhile, all we've heard from the day he was hired, and even before it was official, is how much Gase's #1 interest in this job was based around his infatuation with Darnold.

Exactly. Maybe he didn't love Darnold. Watched him play in actual NFL games and realized how good he was.

LOL.  This opinion piece (i.e. not a reporting piece) making fun of Gase says:

Quote

To be fair, Gase wasn’t a fan of new Dolphins quarterback Josh Rosen, either. He was a fan of the two quarterbacks the Dolphins brought in for interviews ahead of that draft: Baker Mayfield and Josh Allen.

Hmmm, so the Dolphins drafting 11th didn't bring in Darnold for a visit.  The QB who was likely going #1, but clearly woudn't get past the Jets.

Yeah, the only reason he didn't use one of his limited visits with him is because ... he thinks he's terrible.  What a brilliant conclusion.

And then Gase took the Jets job despite that, because ...  he loves DTs?  The Jets have so much else going for them?

Gase had no shot at drafting Darnold, perhaps that is why.

Someone find and article in the history of Miami media that has ever liked anything on the Jets.  The hate for NY, the Jets down here is huge.

Look at the article.  How goes he know Gase didn't like Darnold?  Because everyone knew?  Thanks, very informative

He didn't bring the QB who everyone assumed would go to one of the first 3 teams picking, brought in the 3rd and 4th ranked QBs?  Might fall to the fins or get close enough to trade up for?  No shlt, good move too bring those 2 in.

The media is just turning this into a political hit job at this point ..they’re going to go after him now the way CNN goes after Trump or FOX goes after Clinton ...99% of it is agenda driven , as fans let’s be above it ....sorry mods I hope this wasn’t taken as getting political because it wasn’t meant that way .

This is most likely crap.  But truth be told, with what's happened around Gase recently I'd say there's a 50/50 chance this is true.

This is what you get when you have a psycho as your HC.  You never know what's fact and fiction.  Imagine having to follow this guy.

Just remember - Gase has done nothing other than be Peyton's caddie.  As a HC he was a disaster.  Alienated all his talent.

Doing it again here.

Time to fire Gase while we're at it!

can Gase fire himself?

Technically, I think he can.  He's the GM.  He could also possibly promote himself to full-time GM since....you know, he's the current interim GM.  I think that's how it works.

FWIW, it’s the “Richmond Times-Dispatch” and this is one of the most poorly articulated columns I’ve ever seen come to print. This is his “sourcing”:

You know, the quarterback the Jets took with the No. 3 pick. The one now career-married to Gase. To be fair, Gase wasn’t a fan of new Dolphins quarterback Josh Rosen, either. He was a fan of the two quarterbacks the Dolphins brought in for interviews ahead of that draft: Baker Mayfield and Josh Allen.

And how do I know this? Because everyone around the Dolphins knew it. Because it was widely dispersed after that draft for why the Dolphins didn’t get a quarterback when everyone knew they needed a quarterback.

This is ridiculous.  If Gase didn't like Darnold, he wouldn't have come here.  He knew who the QB was when he agreed to take the job.  This reeks of bitter hack writer for a rival team trying to stir up more nonsense.

Yup - file this under actions speak louder than words. As we now know, everything Gase says should be taken with a grain of salt aka, don't believe anything he says.

The real question should be why was Gase even "offered" the job???... If true, THIS Is an indictment on the ownership more that Anything else.

And it piles on.  We're in the same camp that didn't love the Gase hire, but come on. This is just dumb now.  The problem is that we open ourselves up for all of this BS by the way we do business.

I'm just hoping we get Douglas and call this a day. The guy is legit and would instantly be the first REAL GM we've had since Steinberg... who was terrible.
