Picture this:

Robby and Thomas on the outside

Crowder in the slot against the nickel

Now there’s just 2 LBs, and they have to deal with both Bell and Quincy as the TE/H-back, where he had so much success under Gailey.

All of a sudden matchups become more favorable.

Pray this is what Gase is thinking with this move.  Q is a wasted asset playing only on the outside.  The schematic domino effect of this can be positive if Gase does it right.

And then Darnold is sacked

Wait wasn’t he waived last week? Why not get him at that point?

yea and he was probably getting waived again. That's my only problem w/the move. We almost certainly could have had him for nothing and we gave up something, even if it's next to nothing. Not a huge deal but not the most frugal approach.

Holy sh*t

edit: always surprised by trades in the division

Quick thoughts:
1. Jets slightly overpaid
2. The Patriots clearly aren’t worried about the Jets over the next 3 years
3. Gase coached him in Denver
4. Jets were desperate and Pats had a surplus
5. Hopefully the paperwork gets f**ked up and we end up with Antonio Brown

unless a WR is hurt it’s weird.

Are people really crying over a 6th round pick

I agree.  Although it could be a high one.

Pats had a surplus at WR.  Jets had to do a 6th instead of the 7th the Pats would have taken from any other team.

Why would the Pats help the Jets?  Because the Jets won't be a threat over the next couple years.

He was a free agent after training camp cuts. They could have had him then for nothing. And until they are able to give Sam time, having a slow WR doesn’t help.

Jets fans “ holy sh*t get a guy in here!”

also Jets fans “holy sh*t not that guy!”

We don't need a WR.  If it were a CB or OL, different story.

Think of the message the coach is sending the team after one measly game.  "You suck so I'm bringing in teacher's pet instead".  We were one play away from winning the game.  We were one injury away from holding the Bills to 3 points.
