Kiper went nuts because he thought the Jets should have taken Hart Lee Dykes, a WR fro Okla.St., who went two picks later. Dykes, by the way, had a short career, think 2 years, and never made an impact, mostly due to injuries. Lageman, while definitely way over drafted, had a decent career. I heard today that Kiper's success rate is actually much better than average statistically and higher than most GMs

SomebodytoAnybody47
New York Jets set to move on from punter Lachlan Edwards? Staying on the Jets, it seems as though the franchise is ready to move on from punter Lachlan Edwards, who remains a free agent. The Jets signed Ian Berryman to a futures contract to replace Edwards, but he’s never punted the ball during the regular season. As a result, it looks like selecting a punter in the draft is a real possibility for the Jets. I’m told the team is enamored with Braden Mann of Texas A&M, the top-rated specialist on my board, and could look in his direction at the start of the draft’s third day. Uhhhhhh. What? A punter on the start of day 3?! Get out of here with this nonsense.

I don't think they own a third and they won't give up a second so they would have to tap into future picks which are nice but don't help us win games nowSent from my Pixel 2 XL using JetNation.com mobile app

They have 2 1sts and 2 5ths and a 6 and 7. They would probably like to move down and get a few more picks in the middle rounds. However, here is a trade that could work for both teams. SF trades 13 (1150), 31 (600) and 176 (20) Jets trade 11 (1250), 48 (420) and 120 (54) We move our mid-2nd rounder up to low 1st where the much better WRs will be (one of Mims, Higgins, Jefferson). SF moves down from 31 to 48 but jumps the Raiders to get their pick of the top WRs and also turns a low 5th into a high-mid 4th. It's fairly balanced, keeps the total picks the same, and might make some sense for both teams. If we could walk away with Thomas and one of those WRs, I'd be pretty happy. 3
