1989 was Lageman. Kiper went nuts because he thought the Jets should have taken Hart Lee Dykes, a WR fro Okla.St., who went two picks later. Dykes, by the way, had a short career, think 2 years, and never made an impact, mostly due to injuries. Lageman, while definitely way over drafted, had a decent career.

I heard today that Kiper's success rate is actually much better than average statistically and higher than most GMs

Henry Ruggs has heard “constantly” from Raiders, Broncos, 49ers

“Unrelated, if you’d like to draft Ruggs, a team ahead of those three teams would be open to moving down.“

New York Jets set to move on from punter Lachlan Edwards?

Staying on the Jets, it seems as though the franchise is ready to move on from punter Lachlan Edwards, who remains a free agent. The Jets signed Ian Berryman to a futures contract to replace Edwards, but he’s never punted the ball during the regular season.

As a result, it looks like selecting a punter in the draft is a real possibility for the Jets. I’m told the team is enamored with Braden Mann of Texas A&M, the top-rated specialist on my board, and could look in his direction at the start of the draft’s third day.

Uhhhhhh.  What? A punter on the start of day 3?! Get out of here with this nonsense.

The jets are experts at creating holes in special teams where there are none.

It would be Great if the Jets could trade down form 11 to 12 w/ the Raiders or from 11 to 13 w/the  49's & pick up some Extra needed picks... dropping down 1 - 2 spots should still have them there for hopefully a day 1 starter.

49ers do not have the right picks to be a viable partner for us. I don't think they own a third and they won't give up a second so they would have to tap into future picks which are nice but don't help us win games now

Source is telling me Natalie is hot.

Also, she is a reporter covering the Eagles. You can bet they want to see Jerry drop to 21.

The Jets aren't going Anywhere now... 2021 2nd/3rd would be Very Nice... 2020 #13 (1st rd) & #156 (5ht rd) + 2nd/3rd in 2021 would do just fine.

49ers don't have a 2nd or a 3rd or a 4th.  They have 2 1sts and 2 5ths and a 6 and 7.  They would probably like to move down and get a few more picks in the middle rounds.  However, here is a trade that could work for both teams.

SF trades 13 (1150), 31 (600) and 176 (20)

Jets trade 11 (1250), 48 (420) and 120 (54)

We move our mid-2nd rounder up to low 1st where the much better WRs will be (one of Mims, Higgins, Jefferson).  SF moves down from 31 to 48 but jumps the Raiders to get their pick of the top WRs and also turns a low 5th into a high-mid 4th.  It's fairly balanced, keeps the total picks the same, and might make some sense for both teams.  If we could walk away with Thomas and one of those WRs, I'd be pretty happy.

This is everything. Anyone saying anything about Sam and his lack of proving to be a franchise QB needs to Cool their jets(pun fun).  Even the rare plays where he had time were tainted with knowing this was possible at any moment. That's what the seeing Ghosts crap was all about.

We need to see what this kid can do after he gains some trust in an NFL caliber OL. Then we can talk about Sam making players around him better and all that jazz.

I'm all for taking an offensive lineman in round 1. However, it's not one or the other, we 8 picks to address our needs. We went heavy on the offensive line in free agency and even if we pick a WR in round 1 we can still address the offensive line in the draft. WR is a big need also.

Sure. In Rd 2.  :P
