Jets just drafted a starter in the sixth round. Can't quibble too much.

Think about it - the jets turned pick 48 into mims, Perine and Clark.  All offense, and all could wind up contributing this year.  That’s how you draft.

This isnt a knock on the players we drafted, but I truly believe JD got absolutely wrecked by teams in front of him this draft. 

I bet from rounds 2 and on that his players kept getting snaked, and he kept attempting trade backs. You can somewhat guess this by the amount of time our picks are taking to place. A lot of other teams seem to be running to the podium.

I read from multiple sources leading up to the draft the  jets loved Morgan along with a few other teams, might have been earlier than I thought they’d take him. A lot of teams taking QB’s earlier than expected. Daniel Jeremiah compared Morgan to Brisset. I’d love a Brisset like backup.

One draft profile on Clark, another team captain: 

"Charlotte offensive linemen Cameron Clark enters the NFL after appearing in a program-record 39 games while starting 35 contests. The 49ers’ offensive MVP in 2017, Clark was a team captain in both 2018 and 2019. Clark is a physical blocker with a maulers mentality. He is dynamic in the run game to create movement and finish every block. With that said, he needs some technical work in pass protection to reach his ceiling with both his feet and hands. Clark is likely best suited for a west coast offense that features a power run game but I don’t think he’s scheme-specific. Clark has the makeup of an NFL starter but it may not be in Year One."

It's always entertaining to see people freak out over day three of the draft, where they couldn't point out any of these prospects if they were standing next to them on the street.

I don't think JD had much of a concern for what people ahead of him were doing.  He doesn't seem the type to panic.  The board falls as its going to fall.  This was the year to trade down, and he did it twice.  At worst its a B+ draft for me.

All three fourth round picks will make the roster and stick for four or five years, at least.. That’s more than you can say for most fourth rounders.

C'mon.  Zuniga was a terrific pick, and Perine is our next Bilal Powell.  

It's been fine outside of the first 2.  Not great, but fine.  And nailing the 1st 2 picks was what mattered most.
