There’s a chance Lawrence isn’t even the first QB taken from what I understand

I love Sam and believe he will be a true frachise QB for us for years to come.  However this scenario isnt a "down year" or anything like that.  If we have the Number 1 pick and Lawrence doesnt have some sort of devastating injury, he has to be the pick and its not debatable.

Even if Sam got hurt and we had to play the whole year with the rookie or something like that, there wouldn't be enough "good" from Sam as an NFL player to not pick Lawerence.

Who's the best available DT or Safety available?

This post is preposterous, how the hell are we going to have the worst record opening up at 2-0?

At Bills? Darnold seems to be in a zone playing there with confidence. At home vs 49ers at 1:00 PM eastern time (10:00AM WST) & Garapolo trying to win without being able to run the ball?

Jets start season 2-0, talk of the town.

I say safety, particularly strong safety. He, how presumptuous of me, can sometimes sack and may occasionally pick off Trevor. Is the safety and avid social media poster/influencer?

We aren't getting the number 1 pick. When we suck, we can't escape the 4-12 to 6-10 purgatory that is never even close to bad enough to get the number 1 pick.

Trade that pick for 3 firsts and some change. That would be franchise changing.

Darnold is going to be a great QB in this league. Screw starting over with another big fat question mark.

It depends on Darnold. If he improves off last year, puts up good numbers and plays impressive football but the rest of the team slacks then it makes sense to get the gargantuan haul.

If Darnold sucks then you take Trevor and run.

If we did end up with number one pick it would more than likely indicate we broke Darnold and that’s it. So Drafting Trevor Would be the only choice. Trade him to the Patriots?  Go take a walk in the park Phil, you need to get out.

The #1 pick means the season went totally off the rails, likely something like Darnold got sick/hurt and couldn't play all year.  Even with last year's train wreck of a roster we found 7 wins.

However, in any case....you'd take Trevor there.  If Darnold was hurt then you want another QB on a rookie deal.  If Darnold was horrible then both him and Gase are on their way out and you're starting over with a new coach who would want his own QB.

Also, we're not Drafting #1 overall so this whole thing is moot.

I went with safety so that we can have a 100+ page thread with people pissing and moaning about drafting a safety.

Each choice is more rediculous than the next. We have a QB so why would you use a first round pick on another. It isn't  like Darnold has played like Geno Smith.

Why would we rrade Lawrence to the Pats or any team. Trading him would mean we selected him and thst is not happening.

We are also set at S. I'm figuring this is a stupid joke but JD has dine everything in this dradt that everyone hoped for, got a franchise LT, Drafted a high profile WR, and collected more picks along the way to select an edge and CB. Picking S would mean he has turned into Mac.

If we get the first pick and Lawrenfe is the consensus number 1 overall, you trade back for a freaking embarrassing amount of forst round selections

If we get the #1 pick, that means Sam Darnold sucks - so you dump him for Trevor

We'll never get the # 1 pick.  This franchise has never learned how to tank properly.

We will not have the 1st pick. It's the Jets. The "best" we will do is 3rd and we will get the best darn DT available

The only answer.

It’s funny how firm each is on their thoughts here. Taking Lawrence is the only answer. Trading for 3. 1sts is the only answer. lol

The thing is that we’re right here.

Trevor Lawrence  is so massively overrated on these forums it is hilarious.

I'm not so sure he's that much better than Justin Fields.

Hell, I'm not so sure he's better than Justin Fields at all

Well actually since we're not trying to tank, this would be the year we get the #1 pick lol
