Niners got a 4th for Trey lance who is no better than zach, maybe a wore resume.  So maybe we an get a 5 or 6 but probably teams will call our bluff and we will cut him

how do we know that. Lance was always injured.  Zach has played 31 games in 3 years and has been benched 3 or 4 times.

teams may look at Lance and say if he stays healthy he could be good. Zach has been healthy and sucks. plus mentally he is probably shot with all the benching.

i wouldnt trade for him especially with reports that we want him traded anyway. what happens when no body trades for him and his 10 mil contract? just wait for him to get cut.

Wishful thinking, but I doubt they get anything higher than a 7th, and even that seems like a stretch.

I suspect the a jets get slightly more from a Zach trade that you would expect. And that return will be based on how incompetent other teams feel the Jets are from top to bottom. The higher the pick means other teams believe Zach was poorly developed, poorly coached, and poorly utilized. And that new team believes they can do better-which is likely every team.

This is right. Despite all the (warranted) Zach hate here, another team will absolutely take a shot on a former #2 pick on a 1 year deal.

Trading Zach saves the Jets $5.4 mil in cap space vs cutting him outright, so the gamble would appear to be that some team finds it worthwhile to give up a seventh for the right to have Zach in their building for a year.

I would assume any trade will involve us taking on a bunch of remaining salary.

Why do people keep assuming the elite offensive minds in the game will want this loser?

SF wanted to give us a bounty of picks to trade up to get him and smarty pants Joe Douglas said no.   These teams look at jets players and say.....yeah jets this guy is not as bad as he seems and guys like Geno and Darnold bear that out.

The jets will try and trade him and will probably end up having to cut him but some team will pick him up.

In any case he is gone in 5 games and no longer a Jets issue.

He will light it up the next 5 games to prove a point to Jets fans while simultaneously ruining our draft position so we can't draft his successor.

Then we will trade him to his new team, where he will ride the bench for a year before falling into his old habit of running backward and showing his true worth.

Thus proving that he was always a true Jet to begin with.

Darnold was a backup less than a year after the jets moved him

Geno got good 8 years and 3 teams after leaving the Jets

not sure how they bear that out.

How delusional is this franchise if they think Wilson has trade value

Though, he's deemed worthless to many at the moment why not give him these last few games, assuming with a let er rip, use his legs, green light, to prove himself otherwise after getting sideswiped by Dianna Russini... Would consider it a success if he proves some worth for himself personally or for team trade value or even, though unlikely now, as to what Rogers hoped he might become for the Jets future (IMO Patience needed there).

As a Jets fan I consider myself not delusional but maybe just optimistic as I'm fully on board and rooting for him to succeed! And if he fails, he can be cast aside in similar fashion as they did back in time with Geno... Found it interesting how Geno's offensive line was considered in a shambles for 2 seasons before his release and then he he only had one receiver, Eric Decker for a WR1 who was deemed a #2 and that he also he had no TE's....  But...you know that's all water under the bridge...    We Just Can't win ...LOL!  ANYWAY... Let er Rip!!!

They relate because the jets are historically bad at developing and helping young QBs and the Jets were so smart in bringing in the worst oc in all of football this year along with a host of terrible jag players.  If a team had Wilson rated high in his draft year they might be willing to take a flyer on the guy despite him sucking becasue he is with the jets who have no fing clue what they are doing.

Sam SUCKS. If JoeD decides to trade him, he won't get a wet napkin for him. Sam Darnold is the worse QB in the league on the worse team. NO TEAM is trading ANYTHING for him. Probably not even a conditional future 7th rounder. No one is trading for Darnold. The dream is over.

Because it isn't delusion for starters.

EVERY year there is a QB that people think sucks, and every year one gets traded.

Will a team give up a 1st?  Of course not.  But someone will probably take a flyer on the kid to see if he is salvageable.
