Popular Post Untouchable
The fact that anyone actually believes that dudes like Cimini and Rogers have inside information on Douglas and Saleh’s offseason plans is hilarious. I wouldn’t buy this sh*t on April 27th. Much less the first few days of February. 9

Popular Post Untouchable
Not a single one of these beat writers had the inside info on a single Jets FA signing or draft pick last year. Hell, for as much guff as people give Tony Pauline, he was literally the only one out there who reported that the Jets had serious interest in Sheldon Rankins.
Snell41
Listen, I would suggest you brace yourselves for a defensive heavy draft. Saleh stated our D is so simple a monkey can run it, which means it relies on superstars to make plays vs scheme.Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app

Sammybighead
Hard to buy any rumors in February. That said, as much as everyone has fallen in love with mcbride, there are other good TEs in this draft which can be had in later rounds.

CanadaSteve
And if we sign a #1 and #2 TE, we won't need to worry about it. Nothing to see here folks, its early February. MOVE ALONG!

GreenReaper
TE is such an important weapon for a WCO like this. And a great safety blanket for a young QB like ZW. No way Jets don't make a concerted effort to get one in FA and one in the draft. I said in a thread last year. Jets should make a Dustin Keller award for the next TE who catches 60 balls for the NYJ in a season. Dustin was the last one to do it in 2011. When will the next one be?
PLO
This TE draft class is mega deep, in terms of utilizing draft capital wisely, you can wait until later rounds to get one and get great value. No need to get one in the first couple of rounds IMO.
Gastineau Lives
I still think the most likely thing is signing one and drafting one. It makes the most sense.

slimjasi
Cimini usually has no idea what the Jets are up to - particularly since Douglas got here. That goes for all our beat guys, honestly.

varjet
I think the analytics are very powerful, and when you look at the analysis produced yesterday that showed the bust rate/position, it ties together better. When you look at Kittle (5th round), Schultz (4th round), and all of the various TEs who have underachieved picked in lower rounds, and all of the needs the team has, you can see a GM focusing on the analytics may want to avoid taking a TE too high. But that being said, teams are not focusing on that more, and past performance does not necessarily indicate future results. Paying up for a Schultz who has proved that he can be successful in the NFL is obviously a smart idea. But if I am JD, that 3rd round pick could be a good one for a TE. JoJoTownsell1
I think this is a misleading post. Saying TE is not a draft priority only means they are likely attacking TE in free agency. I can pretty much guarantee everyone that Schultz/Gesicki will have more receiving yards than any of the TEs in this class. Not because they are better, but because TEs take time to develop. TE's RARELY help year 1. Pitts was a generational talent, playing with matt ryan and finished with 1 TD (granted also 1k yards). Kittle and Andrews both had a measly 500 yards as rookies. Jets are finally in "win now" mode. Any TE they take will have a marginal impact this year, so likely not a priority in the 1st/2nd round.
UntouchableCrew
OL, DL and WR seem obvious to me and while none of us want to waste draft capital on a S it was clearly an area of need last year.
