No coaching change no matter the outcome vs Den

I want Gase fired as much as anyone else here does.

But clearly, that's not the Jets way of doing things. I can't see them not letting him finish out the season. If he gets the pink slip, it will be in January not October

"Barring something egregious"

You mean like losing on national TV to the terrible Broncos? That qualifier gives Hughes and his "source' an out after Gase gets fired Friday.

This story seems like something Jets management fed to Hughes to give Gase a fighting chance Thursday night. Pure media fluff.

Firing Gase at this point is nothing more than a fan wet dream.....nice to imagine but not real.

Not sure why you think it's impossible for a head coach to get fired mid-season. Happens all the time. Actually, it usually happens after a coach gets a "Vote of confidence" or a story is leaked saying "coach not about to get fired."

Because they’re paying Bowles through this season and don’t want to pay 3 men to be HC at the same time.

Unless Sam looks confident throwing 3 TDS and 400 yards and defense shuts them out...

Actually no, even then, he should be fired regardless.

Somebody has to lead the tank.  Putting GW or bob cooter at interim HC. might excite these guys have them playing with heart.

I don't understand the thread. So this is just Connor Hughes' opinion? The guy who has been going to bat for Gase all season? OK.

or is there more info behind the paywall?

The key reason it wouldn't happen this quick is because of the embarrassment it would cause CJ after having said less than two weeks ago that Gase is a brilliant guy and giving him a full endorsement.  He can't turn around and fire the guy two weeks later.  And, it's not just the embarrassment...

How the Jets handle this situation, how professional they appear to be, whether they give Gase some more runway due to the injuries and poor roster will all influence how other coaching candidates view this place.  The Jets are marketing a Head Coach job to the world right now.  If you seemingly endorse a guy and then two weeks later you appear to stab him in the back for not winning with Josh Malone and Braxton Berrios then why would any HC who has more than the Jets as an option want to come here?

Almost the entire “what’s left of the fan base” wants Gase removed.  So why give them that small amount of satisfaction?

I know the Moron, stepped in sh*t, lucky sp*rm “Owner” just recently only as far back as a few weeks ago called HIS hire Adam Gase a “genius”, and now if he fires him he knows he looks exactly like the moron he is.....but for Chrissakes look at the product out on the field hahaha.

Put aside all the non pro talent, most of this team, BOTH sides of the ball have QUIT on Adam Gase.  Johnson can’t see that?
