Before you kill Jamal Adams (or me), please understand; that Adam Gase turned everything into, darkness. 

Who wanted to play for that man? Because I now know 100% that C.J Mosley, didn't. 

But we're giving Mosley a 2nd chance under Saleh (as fans), right?

• Jamal came from a winning SEC and LSU culture.

• He was building a winning defensive culture under Bowles here in NY (a coach who he loved and STUCK UP FOR to the NY media and a coach who just coached his ass off and won a SB as D.C with TB by beating the crap out of Mahomes). 

• And then comes Adam Gase. 

• Jamal Adams wanted out man. He couldn't be around Gase anymore. The culture was horrific. Jamal lost his mind under Gase and was shipped out because of it. And for a haul too (so far Vera-Tucker + 2022 1st etc). 

✓ How many of us Jet fans wanted to quit football because of GASE? I know I did.

I would like to expand on this thought by positing that there are discussions ongoing within the Seahawks front office wherein they want to reconfigure Russell Wilson’s contract to free up money to extend Adams, but Wilson is telling them to GFY because he’s still pissed that they dumped two firsts on a bad safety during Wilson’s prime years. And now Julio Jones is shaking free and John Schneider would love to go for him, but he has the albatross Jamal Adams instead, which will further infuriate Russell Wilson.

We needed him before...we were a trash team with a trash coach and he gave us what we needed for those first two years. His last year was forgettable but it was the last offseason that really made him lose the fans. 

 

I liked him. I thought he was a great player - one that even on a good team would stand out - something we haven't had in a long time. He made a major impact in games and he brought a lot of energy. He was the one good thing Jets fans could point to. 

 

Having said that he would be more trouble than he's worth - he'd be expensive and the difference between him and Maye isn't worth the price tag and that's before adding that Maye's personality fits better than Jamals. We don't need a guy like Jamal from a personnel, scheme or locker room standpoint. Which isn't to say he's a bad pperson/player but luckily we've grown out of needing a hype man

Honestly fellas - even on a reasonable contract - I just think the guy is overrated.

Tyrann Matthieu went from the Cardinals to the Texans to the Chiefs.  When the Chiefs won the SB he was their MVP, not Mahomes. 

Adams, like a DT, will get signed for good money as a last piece for teams wanting to compete.   His contract will be structured so his cap hit is deferred.

The Seahawks thought they were that team.  They were not.  Someone will sign him, but not for $18mm.  He is not what the Jets need, but he could be next year, for 2 years.
