Popular Post rtnelson
Dude fulfilled a most likely life long dream to kick in an NFL game. Better to have that shot and miss, than to go your entire life wondering what would have happened. I'm sure it hurts, but he'll get over it. 10

Countless fans pay $$$ to get seats anywhere near the field just to watch. He got on it, in a game, wearing an NFL jersey with his name on it issued by a (sort of) NFL team. Even if he never gets another chance, he’ll have that memory, and life will go on. Feel bad for someone in a wheelchair instead. 12 1

munchmemory
Growing up in NYC, we had a simple explanation for Kessman's performance: He choked. Not the end of the world. But he had his one chance and blew it. Guess I'd tell him to keep practicing.

Give me a week to practice with the team and I'll still make those kicks. Probably wind up in traction for a month afterwards. Popular Post jgb
Don't like to see anyone whiff on their dream (literally and figuratively) but do I feel bad? Not as bad as I feel that our momentum was demolished by those two misses in what was shaping up to be a highly-entertaining shoot out.

GreenFish
Assuming he's a descent person, yes. He got to kick in an NFL game but what do you tell your future kids/grand kids? Pops missed two extra points and got cut the next day. He can no longer dream about being good and just needing a chance.

ultraJETfan
That's why he's not an NFL caliber kicker. Go on Twitter and self deprecate? Show some damn respect for yourself.

Rangers9
I don’t know if being an NFL place kicker is the end all be all for this young guy. He could personally go in many directions. Go back to school, get a job and join the rat race, or keep trying to be a kicker in pro football. He’s obviously got talent or the Jets and Chargers wouldn’t have signed him. He missed two kicks. A lot of guys have missed extra points a lot of them. Failure in his big chance is something many of us have experienced maybe you flunked a big test, did bad in a job interview, did a terrible presentation, just really blew it. He sure did. So I’m not going to judge him or try to label him. 2
David Harris
Like 1%. Everybody’s felt the pressure and failed. But that job more than any is unforgiving and rightfully so. It’s plus or minus points all the handful of times you’re needed and there’s 100 other guys that can do it decently (though we haven’t found one in 4 years)

If he keeps with it, he'll get another chance with another team if and when he shows he deserves it. I'm pulling for Ammendola who started out pretty good, gave us a lift when we needed a punter to get another chance.
docdhc
I feel bad for anyone who has to endure such a public failure but missing 2 extra points that probably didn’t affect the game isn’t that bad. Missing a kick to win a big game like Norwood can ruin the rest of your life. This kid will only be remembered by diehard types like us who frequent this site and fortunately there ain’t that many of us!
