Jets listed as possible Jimmy G landing spot

listen, it's just like Dak, Cousins, etc.  he isn't a bad qb.  if you look at stats and all, he was decent this year.  is he a top 15 starter?  probably not.  if he's willing to come here as a backup on low money, it's absolutely worth it.  like it's being said,  he knows the offense and if zach gets hurt, he's capable of coming in and winning games.  i mean the dude is 33-14 in his career.

i still think he'll get a chance to start somewhere.  With Tampa Bay open, there's a spot.  If rodgers or wilson leave, he has GB and SEA as options.  Houston, Pittsburgh, heck even Cleveland might be looking for QBs.

Hes a top 15 starter, and is probably in that 9-12 spot over the course of his career these last few years.   Which is a spot that gets you into championship games, but never quite gets over the hump.   Dak and Cousins are good comparisons.

There is no way he comes to the Jets unless the coaching staff feel likes Wilson needs to sit for 2 or 3 years b/c JG will start 100% of the time If he’s here.  And yea, he will command a very high price on the market.

He's coming out of a great system that should have won Matt Ryan a Super Bowl.  He's been playing under Kyle Shanahan and along with George Kittle and Deebo Samuel, and with a defense that is constantly getting him good field position.

What could possibly go wrong with bringing him to "San Francisco East" so that he can play under Shanahan-light and along with Ryan Griffin and Corey Davis, waiting to start drives from his own 25 yard line after the Jets D gives up a TD on every drive?

The reason you bring in a Jimmy G for a year is that you can actually evaluate the roster if Zach is struggling. There were times last year where the QB was clearly holding the team back.

He's a guy who will do well in a good situation - If he comes in and does well then Douglas has done some good work and the QB is the issue.

It's easy to just say we'll sink or swim with Wilson but our jobs aren't on the line.

He also has the propensity of making Bonehead Plays at inopportune times.

JG is not going to the Jets.  Neither party would be or should be interested.

A better question regarding the Jets QB situation.

By what game in the 2022 season will Zach Wilson show himself to be a quality starting QB in the NFL or another monumental Jet 1st round draft bust ???

IMHO, if we don't see clear and regular quality QB play by game 4, it is time to "ROSEN" ZW and start looking to the 2023 draft

Jimmy G is due $25.5mm next year, not guaranteed.  It is the last year of his contract.

The 49ers should put him up for bid.  Should the Jets pay $10mm for a real alternative/back up?  Probably.  Not draft picks for one year.

For some teams the Conference Championships are a good goal.  Let’s see who breaks down and picks up Jimmy G.  This would definitely be the Johnsons of prior years.
