Lazard Caught Off Guard By Benching

Did we ever get the why he was benched? It just doesn't make sense. Zach didn't get benched many other guys not performing nothing. Then Saleh out there bashing hall or Garret wilson like they are the problem? Makes no sense. Sure he been sucking but pretty much result of the play calling and him just being himself. He is playing as he always has, what we paid for. As advertised.

I'm not sure why they mad at him.

Just a guess but hugging the Bills player while the team was getting crushed and getting caught on camera playing soccer during practice. This is more of a Saleh issue tbh.

Okay, I’ll bite.  I think most people named Alan are sensitive types. So maybe Lazard was upset at being called out for his dropped passes.  Also, it sounds like Lazard may of French descent and we all know what pantywaists the French are. lol.

And next from our non-Jets fan crew?  @Raideraholic, @Alk, @PFSIKH@HessStation@JiF?

I was reading an article on this, cant believe they healthy scratched a guy they are paying like that and Lazard said he was told the night before Thanksgiving he would not play and there were no previous conversations about his performance. Which is bizarre.  Nobody said a word to him all season long and then was just benched?  That's an example of very poor leadership.

The other factor that makes this all the more strange of a decision is that him and Boyle are very close and Lazard is Boyle's favorite WR to throw to and has a lot of familiarity w/ him dating back to when they would run the scout team in GB.  They know each others tendencies and have a great rapport.  Lazard's first ever NFL TD, in the preseason, was throw by Tim Boyle.  So on a night when Tim Boyle was asked to start his first Football game in years, that super handsome low handicap Head Coach of yours decided it would be wise to bench him, which makes sense because the rest of the offense is really thriving and clearly Lazard was the problem because man, were they good on Black Friday.

You can tell by what he said they spoke with him and explained the reasoning.

It also sounds like he knows what he needs to work on.

I would expect nothing less from the Coaches.

Don't buy this. They watch film during the week. How could there have not been any conversations about his play? It's not just his route running or drops either. What about the bad blocks, the bone headed penalties, and all the catches that were way harder to bring in for him than they should have been? The dude bobbles every catch he brings in. There is no way in hell this has been avoided to zero conversations as he does something bad every week. In the interview, he looked embarrassed and awkward. Probably didn't want to dig too deep into the situation in front of a camera. Also mind you, yea lazard and boyle have some history but boyle has been practicing with the back ups all off season / season. He has way more reps this year with the other WRers that were active last week than with lazard for this season. To me, this team is fed up with the offensive play. Lazard is grossly over paid for his contributions and is the perfect player to bench to send the rest of the offense a message.

Specifically being fitted  for and required to play in Jets Brand Clown Shoes instead of cleats is inconducive to playing WR as it  to most positions.

Lumping me in with the Stevs..  those poor b*stards.... likely the most tolerable group left around here and they're stuck with me.

Why would he lie to the media, knowing the team would see it, when he's already in the dog house?  I 100% believe him.

And what message did it send to the team?  The whole offense sucks.  Everyone single one of them is playing like sh*t tacos.  The team got boat raced on National TV and had another epic Jetsy moment w/ the Failed Mary.  If there was a message sent, it missed the Jets and was received by the Dolphins and the message said, the Jets are in disarray and they suck really bad are ready to be throttled.

Wilson, Lazard, Cobb, MC, and Uzomah all deserved to be benched......and they did....with Carter they took it a step further and cut him.

Of all the things to complain about with Saleh I don't think this is one of them.....except the fact that it should have been done sooner....with all of them

A guy making 11 million is riding the pine as a healthy scratch. May not be a big deal to us fans because the offense still sucks, but the guys in the locker room would take notice. You make a living by playing on the field, not sitting on the bench. The guys looking for their next deals don't want to be in that situation and would not want to tank their stock. And again, in the interview he looked uncomfortable, he wouldn't be the first guy to not give an accurate account of how things happened. He has had a terrible season, there is no way, even for the most incompetent of staffs, for a player performing as bad as he is to not have any conversations about his struggles this year.

I have a theory that the wide receivers have been part of an experimental program where their helmets are fitted with cutting-edge quantum communication devices. These high-tech helmets were supposed to enhance on-field communication and strategy execution. However, due to a bizarre malfunction, these helmets have been stuck on a loop, broadcasting Broadway musicals directly into the receivers' ears during games and practices.

The twist in this theory involves Uzomah. Rumors suggest that Uzomah is actually the mastermind behind this musical mishap. It's said that he has been secretly coordinating with the equipment team, ensuring that only the wide receivers' helmets receive these musical broadcasts. The reason? Uzomah, a closet musical enthusiast, wanted to bring a bit of Broadway flair to the football field. His hope was that this would inspire more rhythmic and dance-like movements in the receivers' routes, adding an unexpected edge to their gameplay.

However, this plan backfired spectacularly. Instead of graceful, choreographed moves, the wide receivers found themselves distracted and disoriented, often moving out of sync with the plays. They've been seen performing impromptu dance steps and missing crucial catches, much to their frustration and the bewilderment of fans.

Uzomah, meanwhile, maintains a facade of innocence, even as he occasionally hums show tunes during interviews and in the locker room. The wide receivers have grown increasingly disgruntled, not only due to the relentless musical barrage in their helmets but also because they suspect a traitor in their midst. Yet, without solid proof, they continue to perform under the Broadway spell, leading to a season filled with more drama and musical numbers than touchdowns.

This is of course, just a theory.

You might have something here....TMZ said all NY Jets WRs were seen signing up for Elon Musk's Brain Link Human Trials Study.

But rumor has it Elon kicked them all out of the Study after watching the Black Friday game.....

Weird how all the WRs, specifically, are pissed off the last 3 years.  So weird.

Any theories on this one,

I could certainly give you my thoughts on this one, but I won’t.

Because, if there is one thing I’ve learned this year, is that if I’m asked a question that makes me a little uncomfortable, it’s easier for me to simply “ plead the fifth”.

Not sure even why he gets so much praise  for 2022 draft. Sauce was an obvious very hyped pick. JD was probably picking drake London over Garrett if he was still on the board. Was known jets needed a cb and WE. J Johnson fell , and fell into his lap end of 1st round. B Hall wasn’t expected to be there in the 2nd. Jets had to be very bad to get all those good picks. If jets were good in 2020 2021, obviously wouldn’t have been picking 4th overall, and trading talent for picks.

I don’t think the colts gm got award for picking Peyton manning first overall, after being worst team in NFL prior to :)

I think you're being a little too literal here, ofcourse they talked about the offensive struggles but Lazard is saying nobody singled him out and sat him down to talk about his playing time, etc, hence why the benching caught him off guard.  In the interview, he mentioned the entire time that it's a team game, more so then any other game and everyone has been looking individually at how they can do their job better to contribute to success of the unit.  So sure, yeah, obviously everyone in the building is looking deep at what they can change...he's just saying, he didnt realize he was at the point of getting benched, which I think is a failed opportunity by leadership.  Again, the entire offense sucks, nobody is playing at an acceptable level.  It's weird to single Lazard out, despite how disappointing he's been when everyone has been a monster disappointment and nobody is playing well.

Regarding the "message" - I dont see it.  The team got boat raced on national TV and added to their embarrassing legacy, so whatever message it was supposed to send, failed.

Yeah. If they didn't tell him he would be benched, it is a missed opportunity.  The way it is supposed to work is that you threaten people with benching for a couple of weeks.  Then when they don't ship up and you actually bench one, people know you are serious.

I honestly don't know what they get out of benching Lazard beyond getting him off the field.   I have not watched the all-22 or the cut-ups, but most of his errors seem to be pressing.  Penalties, the drops, they seem to come more from the "trying too hard" camp.  Maybe with the routes it is different?  Still, if he doesn't know that is it, then it is a missed opportunity.

Seems odd to take Lazard away from Boyle who has familiarity with him from camp and three full years together in GB, two running this offense.

Playing soccer on a football field is a criminal act. Escorting a Buffalo Bill into the endzone and then hugging him is treasonous. The man should have been cut in Buffalo.

So much of television is really not fit for children, or Christians, or the elderly, so what if there was a black bar on the lower half of your TV screen that kept you from seeing bad things like nudity or soccer?
